Here are Carlos and Pedro the saturday we went down to the tunnel of Monte Ventoso. We can see Carlos indicating positions to Pedro, who had never been here before.

Aqui estan Carlos y Pedro el sabado que bajamos al tunel de Monte Ventoso. Vemos a carlos indicando posiciones a Pedro, quien nunca habia estado aqui antes.

Aqui estoy yo, siendo equipado para el descenso del foso.

But I finally got scared and it would be Carlos who took hold of the situation. Between him and Pedro is the pit.

Pero finalmente me asuste y fue Carlos quien tomo las riendas del asunto. Entre este y Pedro se encuentra el foso.

Finally the great moment of the descent. The metal steps seemed more resistant than we thought.

Por fin el gran momento de la bajada. Los pates metalicos parecian mas resistentes de lo que pensabamos.

After seeing that Carlos was able to go down without any problem I took the decision of going down, of course, without any safety measures. This photo was taken from the bottom of the pit looking up towards Pablo.

Despues de ver que Carlos fue capaz de bajar sin ningun percance tome la decision de bajar yo, eso si, sin ninguna medida de seguridad. Esta foto fue tomada desde el fondo del foso mirando hacia Pablo.

Impressive view of Carlos inside the tunnel dug out of solid rock (granite). This was the first thing we saw as we reached the bottom of the pit.

Impresionante vista de Carlos con el tunel excavado en roca detras. Esto fue lo primero que vimos nada mas bajar al foso.

Picture taken in the middle of the tunnel. This straight section is about 300 meters in length. We were a little scared down there.

Vista en medio del tunel. Este tramo recto debe de tener unos 300 metros de longitud. La verdad es que daba un poco de miedo.

When finalizing the straight section there's a bifurcation towards the left that went outside but the barks of a dog made us backup to continue towards the right. This photo was taken on the stairs that raise towards bunker.

Al finalizar el tramo recto hay una bifurcacion hacia la izquierda que daba al exterior pero los ladridos de un perro nos hicieron retroceder para continuar hacia la derecha. Esta foto fue sacada en las escaleras que suben hacia el bunker de vigilancia.

This is the original entrance to the base. There was a dog down there (that's were the barks came from). Someone has took over this complex to use it as stables.

Esta es la entrada original de la base. Aqui abajo habia un perro (de ahi los ladridos). Alquien se ha expropiado del complejo para usarlo como establos.
