Pontevedra (2003)
Cabo Udra is in the province of Pontevedra, about 4 km from Bueu
and abouty 15,5 km form marín. The roads that leads to the old military path are rather complicated and a little signalized
but the surrounding views are well worth the trouble.
The military path is in a very bad state, full of stones and holes although for 4x4 vehicles is should
be rather simple. The path is about one km long.
Cabo Udra se encuentra en la provincia de Pontevedra, a unos 4 km de Bueu y
a unos 15,5 km de marín. Las carreteras que llevan hacia la antigua carretera militar son complicados y poco señalizados pero
las vistas de la ría y su entorno bien merecen la pena.
Una vez que finaliza la carretera comienza la pista militar. Esta en muy mal
estado, con baches muy grandes, aunque debe de ser sencillo para vehículos 4x4. La pista no es muy larga, alrededor de 1 km.
On the lefthand there are two buildings that still conserve the
camouflage paint. On the first one you can read the text "Batería J-2". The inside of both of them is very similar: completly
abandoned.
This is a good place to leave you car and follow ahead by foot.
A mano izquierda se encuentran dos edificios que aún conservan la pintura
de camuflaje. En el primero de ellos se puede leer el texto "Batería J-2". El interior de ambos es muy similar: estado total
de abandono.
Este es un buen lugar para dejar el coche y seguir a pie.

About 200 meters and on your left you can see, behind a large rock
and between the bushes, the telemetry bunker. On it's rooftop it has a peculiar concrete structure with a graffitti
that makes it impossible not to see.
A unos 200 metros y a mano izquierda podemos divisar, por encima
de una gran roca y entre la maleza, lo que queda del bunker de telemetría. Posee sobre la cubierta una curiosa estructura
de hormigón con un graffiti lo cual hace imposible no verlo.
Access to the bunker. It's a simple and delicate construction,
not like the massive bunkers up north near Ferrol & La Coruña.

no como los voluminosos bunkers de las rías altas.

to see from here as it's all covered in vegetation.

One of the two positions today. All that's possible to see are the
anchorage screws and the concrete esplanade. At one side there's a hollow concrete box that didn't lead anywhere. I didn't
find any more ruins in this area.
I remember seeing photos of this place some time ago: when it had a sentry box and other constructions
painted in bright colours. I don't know if they are hidden behind the hill behind the bunker or if they were demolished. This
last option doesn't seem possible because it would have ALL been demolished. I'll have to examine aerial photos to assure
that I didn´t miss anything!
Una de las dos posiciones hoy. Como se puede observar, se distinguen
bien los tornillos de anclaje y la explanada de hormigón que lo rodea. Aparte de esto había una caja hueca de hormigón que
no llevaba a ninguna parte. No había más restos de ningún tipo.
Recuerdo haber visto unas imágenes de esta zona hace ya bastante tiempo
y que de aquella existían una garita y varios edificios pintados en colores vivos. Desconozco si es que se encuentran ocultos
tras la colina que hay detrás del bunker o es que fueron demolidos. Esto último no parece probable ya que me imagino que habrían
demolido todo. Tendre que analizar fotos aéreas para cerciorarme de que no me he dejado nada atrás!
